Transport infant incubator

A transport infant incubator is an electrically powered unit designed to create a controlled environment for premature or ill newborns who cannot regulate their own body temperature. It maintains stable temperature and, in some models, humidity levels, and is built for mobility—typically mounted on wheels—to allow safe transport of infants within a healthcare facility or between locations such as from a neonatal unit to an ambulance.

These devices are designed for use with mains electricity when stationary and can switch to battery power or ambulance power outlets during transport. They feature a clear, removable or openable hood, a mattress, and may include an equipment rack for accessories. As mobile medical devices intended for critical neonatal care, they are subject to regulatory oversight based on their intended use and risk profile, with classification determined by jurisdiction-specific rules.
