A single-use carbon dioxide cuvette is a non-electrical component used in conjunction with mainstream gas sensors to measure CO2 levels in a patient's exhaled breath. These devices are integrated into breathing circuits, such as those used in anesthesia or critical care ventilation, to provide real-time monitoring of respiratory gases.

These devices consist of a small, open-ended plastic vessel featuring a clear optical window that allows an infrared sensor to monitor gas flow from the outside. Because they are designed for single-use, they are intended to be discarded after a single patient application to maintain hygiene and prevent cross-contamination within the breathing system.
