A polymeric urethral stent, short-term is a sterile, non-bioabsorbable tubular device made entirely of synthetic polymers, designed for temporary placement in the urethra to maintain urine flow. It is used for up to 30 days to support healing after procedures such as BPH treatment or hypospadias/epispadias repair, or to relieve obstruction caused by BPH or detrusor external sphincter dyssynergia.
