Electrical catheter connection cable/switch

An electrical catheter connection cable/switch is a reusable, non-patient-contact device consisting of an electrical cord with connectors on both ends and a hand-operated switch. It is used to transmit electrical energy from a power source, such as a generator, to an electrical catheter—like those used in ultrasonic atherectomy systems—and to manually control the activation or deactivation of that energy flow during a procedure.

This category includes only the cable and switch assembly; the power supply and the catheter itself are separate components and not part of the device. As a reusable accessory intended for use with active medical devices, it is subject to regulatory requirements governing electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and compatibility with the intended catheter and power supply, but does not itself deliver therapy or come into contact with the patient.
