The MW Brillenwerk in the heart of the Bavarian forest stands for the love for classical craftsmanship and the courage for innovative solutions in eyewear construction. In March 2020, Walter Rottler’s long-established eyewear manufacturer was 100% acquired by Martin & Martin GmbH & CoKG from Cologne after several years of partnership, which continues the company with the advice and deed of the former owner. Since 1993, acetate versions ‘Handmade in Germany’ have been produced here with love for production. Germany has only a few glasses manufacturers. Artisanal eyeglass making, like so many craft professions, is a dying branch, but the need for the production of designer collections is still great and spread among fewer and fewer manufacturers. The MW Brillenwerk sets itself the task of developing and manufacturing acetate glasses for the most diverse requirements of the eyewear industry, with the goals of: To let the craft of eyewear construction live on and to offer other eyewear labels the opportunity to produce their innovative products under the highest quality standards in their own country. The team in Hutthurm includes Carola Franzke as manager and 6 skilled workers and assistants, accompanied by the Martin & Martin team in Cologne.
