Hundreds of thousands of patients worldwide are waiting for a kidney transplant, and millions are undergoing life-saving blood dialysis. Each year, 10% of patients are removed from the waiting list due to a significant deterioration in health or death. The cause is a critical shortage of organs for transplantation.
